Recycled cotton is the conversion of cotton fabric into fibres that can be used in new textile products. There are two sources: pre-consumer : yarn scraps and fabric discarded in the industrial cutting and sewing process and post-consumer : from garments used by the consumer. Recycled cotton is the most ecological of all, since it does not have to go through all the processes of cultivation , handling , etc., to reach the final product. Example: 1 kilo of recycled cotton can save between 10,000 and 15,000 litres of water. It is biodegradable.
