Recycled cotton is the conversion of cotton fabric into fibres that can be used in new textile products. There are two sources: pre-consumer : yarn scraps and discarded fabric in the industrial cutting and sewing process and post-consumer : from garments used by the consumer. Recycled cotton is the most ecological of all, since it does not have to go through all the processes of cultivation , handling , etc., to reach the final product. Example: 1 kilo of recycled cotton can save between 10,000 and 15,000 litres of water. It is biodegradable .
Jute is a natural, ecological, sustainable and environmentally friendly resource from which a long, soft and shiny fibre is obtained, extracted from the bark of the plant. It is a dry crop that requires few fertilizers and pesticides, 100% recyclable and biodegradable , the cultivation of one hectare consumes 15 tons of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tons of oxygen , being an annual crop with the rotation the fertility of the following crop is enriched and its combustion does not generate toxic gases.
Used in the fight against climate change to prevent soil erosion and reforestation of forests.
