A circular solution from coffee grounds. Coffee fibre is obtained from the use of waste produced in the production of coffee. A sustainable alternative that favours the reduction of the use of plastics, energy savings in its manufacturing process and in turn promotes care for the environment. It is biodegradable, compostable and Zero Waste.
After oil, coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world. Coffee husks are the dry residue that covers the bean. During the roasting process, the husk is removed and is mostly discarded. Recently, coffee husks have been used as reinforcing fillers for thermoplastic compounds such as polypropylene or ABS. It is a valuable ecological resource that allows the amount of plastics used to be reduced.
